Welcome…

To St John the Evangelist, Kingston.

We are a friendly Anglican Church in south Kingston with a congregation of all ages and we form the Kingston Team Ministry with our sister church, All Saints in Kingston town centre.

We are part of the Diocese of Southwark. We have strong links with the local community, St John's School and Kingston University and the church is used for concerts and by local groups as well as for worship.

Most of our congregation live in the parish and we have a thriving and well attended children's church during our main Sunday service.

ST JOHN'S REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT UPDATE THE BACKGROUND Back in autumn 2009 we asked you what you thought about St John’s church, what you would like to see happening here and how the building could be improved for worship, and for the many other activities that you thought could go on here during the week. The DCC considered all your hopes and ideas and those of the wider community. A Building Development Group was formed to draw up a brief, appoint the right architects and then to work with them on a Feasibility Study. Working through a series of proposals, there is now a set of plans which have been favourably received by the DCC . It is vital to the life of this project that the local community as well as church members are fully behind it. The plans can be seen on the 2020 Vision page, or drop into the church where they are on display at the back, and let us know what you think. If you'd like to meet with us to talk about the redevelopment, we'd be happy to come and talk to any groups of residents or organisations in the community, just e mail us at admin@stjohnskingston.co.uk ST JOHN'S FIELD OF HOPE has been extended so come next spring there should be a lovely display of daffodils on the Bloomfield Road/Grove Lane corner of the church, planted in memory of loved ones who have suffered from cancer and in support of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
