THE BACKGROUND
Back in autumn 2009 we asked you what you thought about St John’s church, what you would like to see happening here and how the building could be improved for worship, and for the many other activities that you thought could go on here during the week. The DCC considered all your hopes and ideas and those of the wider community. A Building Development Group was formed to draw up a brief, appoint the right architects and then to work with them on a Feasibility Study. Working through a series of proposals, we now have a set of plans which have been favourably received by the DCC and the congregation. Now there’s an opportunity for the wider community to see the building’s potential and to consider how it could be used more fully by everyone. We started with an open meeting in the Parish Hall in October and we plan to take these ideas out to as many people in the community as we can reach. A large version of these plans is displayed at the back of the church. Come in and have a closer look!
