Comments from users:

‘St John’s parish hall was the perfect setting for Oscar’s “superheroes disco” birthday party.  30 energetic four year-old children had plenty of space to run, jump and dance in safe and bright surroundings. With a kitchen to prepare all the food in and plenty of tables and chairs the hall had everything we needed for a very enjoyable party!’  Sharon Jiggins

‘During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in the UK and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer. In November 2012, local covers band Plan B put on a sell out Movember gig at St John’s Parish Hall. Apart from generating a large number of dodgy moustaches, the event raised £2000 for the charity. A member of the band said ‘We love playing gigs at St John’s Parish Hall – great venue, great atmosphere and folk always come along with the intention of having fun. To be able to do that and raise money at the same time is a lovely win win for everyone’. John Higham
