St John's church is a focal point in the local community and has strong links with local groups.
St John's School
We have a close link with our church school. Members of our congregation are on the governing body. The children attend services in the church for Harvest, Christmas, Easter and the leaver's service, and do class visits to look around and learn about the building and its use. Our team vicar visits the school each week to take an assembly and do class visits.
Kingston University
Kingston University use St John's Church for a number of events each year. They hold one of their two annual carol services in the church to which university members and local residents are invited. The music department hold a number of concerts at St John's throughout the year at both lunchtime and evening. The church is also hired by the university as an examination hall for student exams.
Spring Grove Resident's Association
The church has strong links with the Spring Grove Residents' Association and the Spring Grove Fringe, with members of the congregation actively involved with both.
The church is used by a number of local groups including the Orpheus choir, the Spring Grove Morris Men and a pre school musical activities group.
